Report of Classis East . . . IN SESSION JULY 9, 1952 AT GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN This meeting of Classis was held at the Creston Church in Grand Rapids. Rev. G. Vanden Berg, the president of the last Classis, conducted the opening exercises. After the credentials were accepted and Classis was declared constituted, Rev. Van den Berg handed the hammer to Rev. R. Veldman, who, according to rotation, was called upon to preside. Rev. Veldman now speaks a few words, of welcome to the delegates.

May 9, 2012, Georgetown PRC Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Georgetown PRC. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Rev. W. Langerak, in the absence of Rev. K. Koole, chaired this session. The business of classis was routine with the exception of two discipline cases presented by two consistories. Classis noted the careful work done by these consistories and advised these consistories to proceed to the second step of censure for these members. The expenses of classis amounted to $45.60. Classis East convened on April 8, 1953 at 9 o’clock A.M. in our Hope Protestant Reformed Church. During the month of April Classis East met six days; two days in Hope, two in Second “Church and two in Hudsonville. Then Classis recessed until May 19, 1953 and met dur­ing two Weeks for the sum total of eight more days; two days in First Church, two at Fourth Church, two at Hudsonville Church and two at the Creston Church.

Classis East met in regular session on May 8, 1985 at the Kalamazoo Protestant Reformed Church. Each church was represented by two delegates. Rev. B. Gritters chaired this meeting of classis. The main item of business was the treatment of an appeal of a brother who maintained that his consistory did not thoroughly treat his protest. Classis decided that the consistory did in fact thoroughly treat the protest and thus the appeal was not sustained. In other action, classis approved the ministerial credentials of Rev. M. September 8, 1999 Hudsonville PRC Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, September 8, 1999 at the Hudsonville PRC. Each church was represented by two delegates. Rev. Dale Kuiper was the chairman for this session. The classis was pleased to hear and approve the examination of Pastor-Elect Nathan Brummel. May 12, 2010 Hope Protestant Reformed Church Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Hope PRC in Walker, MI. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Rev. A. Spriensma was the chairman for this session. Two agenda items occupied the time of this classis: 1) The report of the Study Committee to advise classis on what procedure to follow when a minister resigns from the Protestant Reformed denomination, and 2) The report of the Classical Committee regarding their inquiry into whether Grace PRC gave proper admonition to Rev.
