January 9, 2013 First Protestant Reformed Church, Grand Rapids Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the First PRC, Grand Rapids. Each church was represented by two delegates. The session was chaired by Rev. Jonathan Mahtani, a first for him. Classis dealt with two discipline cases. In both cases classis advised the consistory to proceed to the second step of discipline for their members. This according to Article 77 of the Church Order. This session of Classis was held at the First Church of Grand Rapids. Rev. M. Schipper conducted the open­ing exercises. After the credentials are received and ac­cepted, Classis is declared constituted. According to rotation, Rev. G. Vanden Berg now pre­sides. He speaks a few words of welcome and asks for the cooperation of all the delegates. The Formula of Subscription is signed by those who are delegated to Classis for the first time. The minutes of the last Classical meeting are read and accepted after a couple corrections are made.

Report of Classis East . . . IN SESSION JULY 9, 1952 AT GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN This meeting of Classis was held at the Creston Church in Grand Rapids. Rev. G. Vanden Berg, the president of the last Classis, conducted the opening exercises. After the credentials were accepted and Classis was declared constituted, Rev. Van den Berg handed the hammer to Rev. R. Veldman, who, according to rotation, was called upon to preside. Rev. Veldman now speaks a few words, of welcome to the delegates.

May 9, 2012, Georgetown PRC Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Georgetown PRC. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Rev. W. Langerak, in the absence of Rev. K. Koole, chaired this session. The business of classis was routine with the exception of two discipline cases presented by two consistories. Classis noted the careful work done by these consistories and advised these consistories to proceed to the second step of censure for these members. The expenses of classis amounted to $45.60. Classis East convened on April 8, 1953 at 9 o’clock A.M. in our Hope Protestant Reformed Church. During the month of April Classis East met six days; two days in Hope, two in Second “Church and two in Hudsonville. Then Classis recessed until May 19, 1953 and met dur­ing two Weeks for the sum total of eight more days; two days in First Church, two at Fourth Church, two at Hudsonville Church and two at the Creston Church.
