The Chairman of the previous meeting Rev. S. Van den Berg, called the meeting to order and conducted the opening exercises. After the singing of Psalter No. 239 he reads I Cor. 4 and leads in prayer.
September 9, 2015 Byron Center Protestant Reformed Church Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Byron Center PRC. Each church was represented by two delegates. Rev. A. den Hartog was the chairman for this session. Most of the business was routine. The exception was a request from a consistory to increase censure to the second step for one of its members. Classis advised this consistory to proceed with this action. Expenses for this classis amounted to $55.72. Classis will meet next on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Trinity PRC. In Session April 6, 1949 at Hope Church Rev. H. Veldman calls the meeting to order. After the opening exercises the credentials are received and Classis is declared constituted. According to rotation Rev. R. Veldman presides and Rev. H. Veldman officiates as clerk. The minutes of the preceding classical meeting are read and approved.
Report of Classis East Convened, July 6, at Grand Rapids, Mich. The July session of Classis East was opened with the singing of Psalter No. 165. Rev. R. Veldman, the president of the last Classis reads Psalm 25 and leads in prayer. The credentials are read and accepted. Classis declared constituted. According to rotation, Rev. G. Vos presides. Rev. H. De Wolf functions as stated clerk in the absence of Mr. D. Jonker.
WHICH MET IN SESSION, OCTOBER 5, 1949 Classis East met in the new church building of our congregation at Kalamazoo on the morning of October 5, 1949. Classis was called to order by Rev. G. Vos, the president of our last Classical meeting. Classis sings No. 374:1, 5 from the Psalter. Rev. Vos then reads Eph. 4 and leads in prayer.
May 13, 2015 Hudsonville Protestant Reformed Church Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Hudsonville PRC. Each church was represented by two delegates. Rev. N. Decker was the chairman for this session. Rev. R. Smit attended Classis East for the first time. A notice of an appeal to Synod 2015 was given by a brother whose protest against a decision of Classis East in January, 2015 regarding the scheduling of Prayer Day services was not sustained. The usual opening exercises were conducted by the Rev. J. Blankespoor, president of the last classis. All the churches were represented by two delegates except Randolph; they delegated their pastor only.
MET IN SESSION, APRIL 5, 1950, AT GRAND RAPIDS, MICH, Since Rev. J. De Jong, who presided at our last Classis, had left for Classis West, Rev. C. Classis received a protest from a brother against its decision taken at its September/October, 2014 session regarding the scheduling of Prayer Day services.
