Rev. G. VanBaren, chairman of the October Classis, led in opening devotions, and, after the credentials were received, declared Classis to be properly constituted. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Rev. R.C. Harbach, due to the absence of Rev. H. Veldman, who had been delayed in his return from a classical appointment in Doon, then presided. Special Session, October 13, 2010 First PRC — Holland, MI Classis East met in special session on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 for the purpose of examining Daniel Holstege, the Pastor-elect of First PRC, Holland, MI. Rev. H. Bleyenberg was the chair of this session. Pastor-elect Daniel Holstege successfully sustained his examination, and a Classical Diploma was presented to him certifying this accomplishment. The consistory of the First PRC, Holland was authorized to ordain and install Pastor-elect Holstege into the office of the ministry of the Word and sacraments in the Protestant Reformed Churches. Special Session October 21, 2008 Classis East met in special session on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 for the purpose of examining Heath Bleyenberg, Pastor-Elect of the Providence PRC. Pastor-Elect Bleyenberg sustained his examination; and, with the concurrence of the delegates ad examina from Classis West, his consistory was authorized to ordain and install him as a minister of the Word and sacraments in the Protestant Reformed Churches. Classis also approved the request from Kalamazoo PRC for the reduction of synodical assessments for 2008 because of their recent loss of three families. Classis East met in regular session on January 5, 1972 at Southeast Church. Rev. Schipper led in opening devotions and Rev. VanBaren served as chairman of this session. Each church was represented by two delegates.  Hearty welcomes were given to both Rev. C. Hanko who returned to Classis East after seven years in Classis West and Rev. G. Lubbers who was spending his last day of furlough in “the states” before returning to his missionary labors in Jamaica. Classis bid the Rev. Lubbers Godspeed and God’s richest blessing as he returns to his work.

REPORT OF CLASSIS EAST April 7, 1971 At Hudsonville Church  Classis East met in regular session on April 7, 1971 at the Hudsonville Prot. Ref. Church and speedily conducted its routine business.  Rev. R. Harbach, chairman of the January Classis, led in opening devotions and after the credentials were received, declared Classis to be properly constituted. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Rev. H. Veldman then presided and Rev. Harbach recorded the minutes.

Classis East met in regular session on April 5, 1972, at Hudsonville. Each church was represented by two delegates. The agenda was routine except for the submission of an overture by an individual concerned about the site of the proposed seminary building.  The reports of the Stated Clerk and Classical Committee were read. The Stated Clerk reminded Classis and particularly the clerks of consistories that all forms must now be obtained from Rev. D. Kuiper, the Stated Clerk of Synod.
