Rev. J.A. Heys led in the opening devotions, and by order of rotation was succeeded by Rev. J. Kortering.  All the churches were represented by two delegates each. Much of the first part of this session was taken up with routine matters, such as reading of the minutes, reports of the Stated Clerk and Classical Committee, appointment of a finance committee consisting of Elders D. Langeland and R. Teitsma.

April 6, 1966 At Southwest Church  Rev. G.J. VanBaren led in the opening devotions. And after he declared the classis properly constituted, he recorded minutes while Rev. R. C. Harbach presided. All the churches were fully represented.  This very brief session of classis treated mostly routine matters.  The Classical Committee was instructed to prepare a constitution governing its work, and present it to the next classical meeting for approval.

Report of Classis East July 2, 1969 Our Southwest Church  Rev. H. Veldman presided over the opening devotions.  Classis was fully represented by two delegates from each Consistory. Prof. H. Hanko was also present at this meeting and was given an advisory vote.  Normally this meeting of Classis in July is a brief session with very little to do. This was not the case this time, however. There were two matters which were given to two committees of advice which will report to the next Classis.

January 10, 1979  Southwest Prot. Ref. Church  Classis East met in regular session on January 10, 1979 at Southwest Church. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Representing for the, first time their respective churches of Faith and Southwest were Revs. Bruinsma and DeVries. Also in attendance were Revs. Lubbers and Veldman. Rev. Van Overloop led in opening devotions, Rev. Woudenberg chaired the meeting.

July 6, 1966 at Hudsonville Rev. R.C. Harbach led in the opening devotions. After the Classis was constituted, the Rev. G. Lanting presided, while the Rev. Harbach recorded the minutes.  All the churches were represented by two delegates each, and Prof. H.C. Hoeksema and Rev. R. Decker, who were in attendance, were given an advisory vote.  The transcribed minutes of the April Classis were read by the Stated Clerk and approved. His report re correspondence, as well as the report of the Classical Committee, was filed for information.
