Held in the Edifice of the Fourth Church on October 6-7, 1954 Classis East met October 6 and 7 in the church basement of the Fourth Protestant Reformed Church. This Classis was, no doubt, not as historic as the Classis held in the same location just a year earlier; nor was this Classis as long in duration, although Classis met two days. Yet, it was an important Classis where significant decisions were taken affecting the well-being of our churches.

July 10, 1957 at Hope Protestant Reformed Church Rev. G. Vos, chairman of the April Classis led in devotions. All the churches of Classis East were represented by two delegates. Rev. B. Woudenberg, following the order of rotation, presided over this session of Classis. This was the first time this youthful minister of Creston presided, and he acquitted himself well of his task. Rev. May 8, 2002 Southeast PR Church Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the Southeast PRC. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Present also were the church history students from Covenant Christian High School. Classis’ business was more than routine. Classis spent a great deal of time in closed session considering an appeal of a discipline matter. Classis, furthermore, approved the request for emeritation from Rev. Dale Kuiper. In session July 11-12, 1956 at Hudsonville, Michigan Rev. G. Lanting, chairman of the previous Classis, led in devotions and declared Classis constituted. According to rotation, Rev. J.A. McCollam then presided, while Rev. Lanting recorded minutes. The minutes of the April session were read and approved, and the chairman read the agenda before Classis. The Revs. G. Lubbers, G.M. Ophoff and H.C. Hoeksema begin present at Classis were welcomed and given advisory vote.

September 12, 2001 Kalamazoo , Michigan Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at the Kalamazoo PRC. Noticeably absent due to the terrorist attacks on New York City on September 11th was the elder delegate from Covenant PRC, Wyckoff, NJ. The delegates from the newly-organized congregation of Trinity PRC were present at classis for the first time. Rev. M. VanderWal was the chair of this session.
