Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, September 9, 1987 at the Hudsonville Protestant Reformed Church. Each church was represented by two delegates. Rev. J. Slopsema presided over this session. The business of classis was, for the most part, routine and adjournment was before noon. Classis did receive a protest from a brother against a decision taken regarding his protest to the May, 1987 classis. Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 13, 1992. Each church was represented by two delegates. A special welcome was given to Rev. D. Kuiper, pastor of Southeast PRC, who came to the classis from Classis West. Rev. M. Kamps was the chairman of this session. The agenda for this session was light-with one exception. Classis West met in special session on Wednesday and Thursday, June 17 and 18, 1992, in South Holland, Illinois. This meeting was held to conduct the peremptoir examination of Pastor-elect Mitchell Dick. Pastor-elect Dick successfully sustained his examination and the Immanuel Protestant Reformed Church of Lacombe, Alberta, Canada, was advised to proceed with his ordination to the ministry of the Word and sacraments. Via its Classical Committee, Classis West also received and approved a request from Rev. January 13, 1988  Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, January 13, 1988 at the First Protestant Reformed Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Rev. B. Woudenberg was the chairman for this session. lassis West of the Protestant Reformed Churches met in special session on November 19, 1986 in South Holland, Illinois, to examine Mr. Charles Terpstra, according to the requirement of Article 4 of the Church Order. The examination was requested by the Pella, Iowa Protestant Reformed Church, whose call Mr. Terpstra had accepted. Mr. Terpstra successfully sustained the examination. Classis advised Pella to proceed with Mr. Terpstra’s ordination into the office of the ministry of the Word and Sacraments.
