REPORT OF CLASSIS EAST held April 7, 1965, at Holland, Mich.

Rev. G. Lanting led in opening devotions, and declared the classis properly constituted after the credentials had been accepted. Then Rev. G. Lubbers, following the order of rotation, presided, while Rev. Lanting recorded minutes.

This classis, too, was marked by the fact that most of the work was routine, and the meeting was brief. We were finished with our work about an hour before noon.

First Church asked for classical appointments, which were granted as follows: April 25—G. Lanting, May 2—H. Veldman, May 9—G. Lubbers (two services), May 16—R.C. Harbach, May 23—M. Schipper, May 30—G. Vos, June 6—H. Veldman, June 13—R.C. Harbach, June 27—G. Lanting, July 4—M. Schipper, July 11—G. Vos.

Rev. G. Lubbers was chosen to serve on the Classical Committee, and the Revs. M. Schipper and H. Veldman were chosen Church Visitors, with the Rev. Lubbers as alternate for both. Mr. F. Ondersma and Mr. G. Stadt served on the finance committee, while Mr. A. Haveman was appointed to thank the ladies of Holland for their excellent catering services. Rev. G. Lanting and Mr. H.C. Lubbers and Mr. M. Klop served on the committee to prepare classical appointments. The Stated Clerk and the Classical Committee gave their reports. The Questions of Article 41 of the Church Order were asked and answered satisfactorily. Classis decided to meet next time, the Lord willing, on July 7th in the Southwest Church. Rev. R.C. Harbach closed the meeting with prayer of thanksgiving. M. Schipper, S.C.
