Report of Classis East meeting held July 1 at Southwest Church. Rev. G. Vos, who was to have led the classis in the opening devotions, but who was not feeling well, asked the Rev. G. Lubbers, now pastor of Southwest Church, to fill in for him.
After the classis was properly constituted the Rev. R. Harbach presided and Rev. Lubbers recorded the minutes. All the churches were represented by two delegates each. Noticeably the Rev. C. The Stated Clerk was instructed to send him a letter of farewell, expressing our thanks to God and to Rev. Hanko for his service to our churches, and wishing for him the Lord’s blessing in his future field of labor.
The agenda was very light and the meeting adjourned about 10:45 A.M.
