This year’s synod met in the beautiful and commodious new building of the First Protestant Reformed Church of Grand Rapids. By decision of Synod of 1985, the synod this year was scheduled to convene on Tuesday, June 10, which implied that the pre-synodical service, under the auspices of First Church, fell on Monday evening. Lack of preachers in the church world, felt also in the PRC, motivates God’s people to pray more fervently: “Lord of the harvest, thrust out (see previous editorial) laborers into the harvest…. We are discussing the question, “What is the evangelical approach according to the Scriptures?” In the previous article on this subject we considered the preaching of the Gospel in the world before the flood. We recognized the fact that there was a twofold seed: the seed of the serpent, or the natural children of Adam and Eve, who were conceived and born in sin, and, on the other hand, the seed of the woman, who also were conceived and born in sin but were regenerated by the Spirit of God.
