Most of our readers have heard the sad news that our editor, the Rev. H. Hoeksema, suffered a heart attack on Tuesday, June 17th, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, while enroute to California where he intended to spend his vacation. We realize that this notice comes to you at a rather late date. Even if we may not judge one...

Well, you must know that things were not as they ought to be at Corinth. There was a division in the church. Some of the household of Chloe had told Paul about the sorry state of affairs at the church of Corinth. There were four different parties there. And it seems as though all the members were included in the four parties that are...

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” I Cor. 13:2 The Apostle will teach the church at Corinth the difficult lesson that all their gifts and talents, if they are to be conducive to edification of the congregation, must spring from conscious love of God.

Under the above title, the Rev. Ring Star of the Christian Reformed Chin eh at Bemis, South Dakota, writes an article in the Calvin Forum of Aug. and Sept., 1947. I do not know the meaning of the word Forum in Calvin Forum. It may have reference to the use of that word in Roman Antiquity. In Rome it meant a public place or square where popular assemblies were held and justice was administered, such as at the celebrated Forum Romanum.
