Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 13, 1992. Each church was represented by two delegates. A special welcome was given to Rev. D. Kuiper, pastor of Southeast PRC, who came to the classis from Classis West. Rev. M. Kamps was the chairman of this session. The agenda for this session was light-with one exception. January 13, 1988  Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, January 13, 1988 at the First Protestant Reformed Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Rev. B. Woudenberg was the chairman for this session. Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 9, 1990 with a continued session on May 30, 1990. The continued session was necessary to give a committee of pre-advice sufficient time to study the material given them. Rev. B. Woudenberg chaired the session of May 9th and Rev. W. Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, September 10, 1986 and in continued session on Wednesday, October 15, 1986 at the Kalamazoo Protestant Reformed Church. Rev. M. Kamps was the chairman for these sessions. The main item of business at the September 10th meeting was the examination of the pastor-elect of Southeast, Steven Key. Each church was represented by two delegates. The business of this session was not routine as is evident from the length of time that classis spent in session. May 11, 1988  Hope Protestant Reformed Church Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 11, 1988 at the Hope Protestant Reformed Church. Each church was represented by two delegates. Rev. May 10, 1989 Hudsonville Protestant Reformed Church Classis East met in regular session on Wednesday, May 10, 1989 at the Hudsonville Protestant Reformed Church. All the churches were represented by two delegates. Norristown, having been organized by the January, 1989 classis, was represented by delegates for the first time. Classis’ time was devoted primarily to consideration of protests from four brothers from Southwest who protested the decisions taken by the January classis in regard to their appeals re the erection of a cross in the sanctuary of Southwest Church.
