November 2, 2011 Cornerstone PRC Classis East met in special session on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Cornerstone PRC in Dyer, IN. The purpose of this session was to examine Pastor-elect Jonathan Mahtani with a view to his ordination and installation as the pastor of the Cornerstone PRC. Each church was represented by two delegates. Revs. D. Kuiper, N. Langerak, and C. Spronk were present as the synodical deputies from Classis West. Classis East met in regular session on May 13, 1981 at the Kalamazoo Protestant Reformed Church. All the churches, with the exception of Kalamazoo, were represented by two delegates. It is significant to note that not since 1953 has Classis East met in Kalamazoo. The meeting also gave occasion for the delegates to view the new church building there. The business of the session, except for the one item involving a request for the erasure of a baptized member, was routine.

Each church was represented by two delegates, except on the second day when Kalamazoo had but one delegate. A special welcome was given to Rev. R. Miersma who, as pastor of Holland, attended Classis as a delegate for the first time.
