Rev. Slopsema has received the call to Lynden Church in Washington from a trio that included Rev. M. Joostens and Rev. R. Hanko. Prof. R. Decker declined the call from Hull Church in Iowa. Edgerton Church in Minnesota has formed a trio: Rev. M. DeVries, Rev. D. Engelsma, and Prof. H. Hanko. Rev. D. Kuiper, at the request of Hope Church’s consistory (Walker), has agreed to teach in place of Rev. Veldman who plans, D.V., an extended stay in Lynden, Washington. Rev. Rev. Jon Smith, his wife, Kristie, and their three children have settled into Trinity Church in Houston, Texas. Pastor Ron Cammenga conducted the Installation part of the morning worship service, on February 3. Edgerton Church in Minnesota has extended a call to Rev. David Engelsma from a trio including also Rev. DeVries and Prof. Hanko. Hull Church in Iowa has extended a call to Rev. Gise Van Baren from a trio which included also Prof. Hanko and Rev. R. Hanko.

Rev. Slopsema has declined the call from our Lynden Church in Washington; Rev. Van Baren has declined the call from our Hull Church in Iowa; and Rev. Engelsma has declined the call from our Edgerton Church in Minnesota.  With the advance of the Mission Committee the consistory of Holland Church, Michigan, has authorized Rev. R. Miersma to organize a Protestant Reformed Fellowship of Wellington, New Zealand, on the basis of the Three Forms of Unity, into an indigenous congregation. The organization took place March 17.

Rev. Heys is doing well. He experiences no pain and is gaining strength daily. He is able to teach catechism and Bible Study. He will be preaching again by the time this news reaches you. He sent word to Holland Protestant Reformed Church thanking them very much for all the letters, cards, and calls that he and his wife received. May God continue to give him a rich measure of recovery.

David Harbach is a teacher at Adams St. Prot. Ref. Christian School, Grand Rapids, Michigan. In March of this year, Rev. den Hartog received a Rev. and Mrs. J. Klamer into his home. Rev. Klamer is a missionary of the Dutch Reformed Church (Liberated) in Holland. What was interesting to Rev. den Hartog was how Rev. Klamer had dealt with some of the same questions we have faced in Singapore, such as the questions of the place of our Confessions in the work of missions and the principles of doing mission work. Rev. Klamer labored in Indonesia for ten years...
